Who we are

Welcome Invitation (welcomeinvitation.me) is run by Satyarth Agrahari in India. For your personal data, we are the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Contact us at support@welcomeinvitation.me.

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from Google. Your name as you type it when you join.
• Your phone number, only if you give it, and your choice about being contacted with offers, with the date and the wording you agreed to.
• Your invitations: everything you put on them, such as names, family details, events, venues, messages, contact numbers and photos.
• Payments: the order, the amount, the UPI transaction number (UTR), and the name and mobile number you enter at checkout. We never receive your bank account, card or UPI PIN.
• Security data: to stop abuse, we briefly use your IP address and keep only a one-way code made from it, which can't be turned back into the address.
• Guests: people who open an invitation don't sign in. We only count how many times an invitation was opened and how often its RSVP button was tapped. We don't collect anything that identifies a guest.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show, store and share your invitations.
• To take and confirm payments, send receipts and handle refunds.
• To send emails about your account and invitations: your sign-in code, payment updates and reminders before an invitation ends.
• To keep the service safe: preventing spam, fraud and abuse, and acting on reports.
• To contact you by phone or WhatsApp about offers and updates, only if you agreed to it. You can withdraw that any time in Settings.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't show advertising.

Who can see it

Anyone with the link to a published invitation can see everything on it, including photos and phone numbers you add. Links are long and random, invitations are hidden from search engines, and you can unpublish an invitation at any time.

We use these service providers to run the site. They process data only on our instructions:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Cloudflare: photo and music storage, and the security check on forms.
• Netlify: hosting the website.
• Resend: sending emails.
• Google: sign-in with Google, and the maps guests open on an invitation.

Some of these providers store or process data outside India, including in the United States. We may also share data when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Free invitations stay live until 3 days after the last event; premium ones until 1 year after.
• 30 days after an invitation ends, its content and photos are deleted. Drafts you haven't opened for 180 days are deleted too. We email you 7 days before.
• Your account stays until you delete it.
• Payment records are kept as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, without your name or email once your account is deleted.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

• see the personal data we hold about you, and how we use it;
• correct or update it (most of it you can change yourself in the editor and in Settings);
• have it deleted: Settings, then Delete my account, deletes your account, invitations and photos straight away;
• withdraw your consent to being contacted with offers, in Settings;
• nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you can't;
• complain to our grievance officer, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

You must be 18 or older to make an account. If you put a child's name or photo on an invitation, for example for a birthday, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect sign-in. They can't be read by scripts on the page. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each account can reach only its own data, payment and status changes are made only by our server, and photos are checked when they are uploaded. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Grievance officer

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we tell you by email first.
